Arthur Foss’s Engineer Adrian Lipp

NOTE: Change date change to Sun 5/5.  Join Adrian Lipp of Old Tacoma Marine as he leads a NWS Engineroom Work Party.  Participants will exercise machinery and tackle a dozen or so necessary maintenance and repair issues on Arthur Foss.  Wear clothes that can get dirty.  ”If you’re not to picky, we’ll provide lunch.”

Adrian Lipp leads operation, maintenance and repair of the tug’s Washington Iron Works diesel engine, her machinery and systems.  Adrian supervises of NWS assistant engineers and engineroom volunteers during workparties.  He also leads Engineeer for a Day school programs and Diesel Engine Theory Class.

Work Parties get you into maritime heritage and sometime grease or sawdust at the Historic Ships Wharf in Lake Union Park. Join other volunteers aboard the Arthur Foss, Lightship #83, and other vessels for hard work (at times), excellent company (most often) and good will (always).

Email leader directly to “register” and complete the volunteer application form for first-time NWS volunteers.
