The fleet of historic vessels can be found in Washington State and across the country. Northwest Seaport partners with a number of supporting organizations of these vessels to enhace the heritage of maritime history and culture. Some of these vessels and organizations include:
Steamship VIRGINIA V
Northwest Seaport periodically holds chantey sings, board meetings and other functions aboard the VIRGINIA V, moored at Historic Ships Wharf in Lake Union Park and near Northwest Seaport’s own vessels. VIRGINIA V is owned and operated by The Steamship Virginia V Foundation.
The Duwammish is owned and operated by the Puget Sound Fireboat Foundation. She is moored at Historic Ships Wharf in Lake Union Park near Northwest Seaport’s tug and lightship.
Sailing Vessel Adventuress
Northwest Seaport hosts its July Chantey Sing aboard this historic schooner and supports Sound Experience in its interactive maritime history education efforts.
Sailing Vessel Lady Washington
NW Seaport has relied on advice from the Gray’s Harbor Historical Seaport for Wawona artifact preservation. The Lady Washington is homeported in Aberdeen, Washington.
Lumber Schooner C.A. Thayer
Some parts from the Wawona were donated to the C.A. Thayer when it was fully restored as a lumber schooner. The C.A. Thayer is moored at the San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park.
