Northwest Seaport is seeking volunteers & interns to support the organization. Join us today. Use VOLUNTEER FORM or phone/email our office to share interest, register.
Work Parties, for example, get you into maritime heritage and sometime grease or sawdust at the Historic Ships Wharf in Lake Union Park. Join other volunteers aboard the Arthur Foss, Lightship #83, and other vessels for hard work (at times), excellent company (most often) and good will (always). Join us in getting things done and working for fun. View events for work party scheduling, or check our Facebook page.
Docents welcome the public aboard to explore the historic fleet, complimenting their experience with insightful information and entertaining stories. Enthusiastic docents guide informal tours, help answer visitor questions and help keep the boat open on weekends, Free First Thursdays, and special events at Seattle’s Lake Union Park. No prior knowledge of maritime history is needed. Get a head start by reviewing Tugboating on Puget Sound: A docent’s guide to the Arthur Foss (PDF).
